Embellishments

I want to get caught up with my scrapbooking and I decided to start with my little girl's baby album.  It will have a flowers and butterflies theme and using one paper line (Brenda Walton's Small Wonders).  For the flowers, I punched 3 different sizes of scallop circles and inked the edges then I snipped it to make each petal longer.  I layered it from largest to smallest and finished it off with a pearl brad.  The butterflies were punched from Martha Stewart's various butterfly punches then inked the edges. For the smaller ones I also layered them from biggest to smallest and attached some adhesive pearls.

Cards with Pearls - Cards Blog Challenge

This week's Cards Blog Challenge is Cards with Pearls.  I used Cuttlebug embossing folders for the wedding cake and background then added skittles and pearls on the cake and matted it on a Spellbinder's Label 4. I used PTI for all the paper and stamp sentiment.

Kites - Cards Blog Challenge

This is my first entry for Cards Blog Challenge ... theme: Cards with Kites.  I used PTI for the paper and stamps for this card, a little twine and floss for the kite and Martha Stewart Icicle punch for the grass.

Cupcakes, cupcakes and more cupcakes

My friend gave me the idea of making a bunch of birthday cards so if I need one in a hurry I have one ready. I decided to make several quick and simple cupcake cards and at the same time try to hone my stamping (I still need a lot of practice!) and try out my copics (needs a lot of practice too!). I used the same cupcake stamp and colored it with 2 shades (one light and a medium) of brown and the selected color. I used a circle and scallop punch to frame all the cupcakes and added a similar colored button with twine on one side to give it a little dimensione.

This card is my favorite among this set. I used a brown card stock as base, PTI's Raspberry Fizz as a layering card stock and a strip of PTI's Dotty Biscotti paper pack. I added a strip of ruffled ribbon under the cupcake to finish it off.

On this card I used a background wood grain stamp with Versamark and punched a circle a little bit bigger than the scallop on one corner. I added some twine to give it a little detail. I used PTI's Enchanted Evening as the card base and Spring Rain as the layering card stock.

This card is inspired by PTI's July release. I created the library card on Word and printed in on a cream card stock. I used EK Success spiral notebook edge puncher on the top side and Cutter's Bee bug piercing tool to mimic a torn spiral notebook page. I used PTI's Berry Sorbet (I'm loving this color!) as the card base and a strip of PTI's Dotty Biscotti (love this line too! ... well if you haven't noticed I'm a big PTI fan =D) paper pack.

On this card I tried to make my own background so I got 2 star stamp with varying size and stamped it with Versamark. I stitched around the border and added a twill ribbon before attaching the cupcake. I used PTI's white card stock as base and Plum Pudding as the layering card stock.

Again I tried making my own background this time with 2 slightly different size circles (I used the circles from PTI's Anniversary set) and stamped it with Versamark. I stitched around the border and added a twill ribbon before attaching the cupcake. I used a brown card stock as base and Pure Poppy as the layering card stock.

I used a postage stamp from Unity Stamps with Versamark to create the background and layered PTI's Sweet Blush with a brown card stock. I used PTI's Sweet Blush again as the card base. I'm not too happy with this one I think it still needs something to finish it off.

This is the smallest card among the group. I also tried making a 2 toned background on this one using an older Martha Stewart stamp set. I added a strip of white twill ribbon to cover some imperfection on my stamping =D.

My other favorite! I used PTI's Kraft card stock as base and Summer Sunrise as the layering paper. I stamped it with PTI's Polka Dot Basic II with Versamark to create the background and added a strip of ruffled ribbon.

More Felt!

I'm really digging felt as an embellishment. I can't stay away from them but I must say paper is still my first love =D. Here's a couple more cards with felt using a not so conventional color schemes. Everything is pretty much PTI products.
